Envelope Stuffing

ENVELOPE STUFFING IS BORING. Over and over and over again we perform our little tasks. We fold, we stuff, we seal, we stamp. We do so much envelope stuffing that our little fingers sometimes feel worn down to nubs. Our backs ache.  Our arms ache. The blood has stopped circulating in our legs. Envelope stuffing is an easy job in some respects, but let's face it, it's the most repetitious job on earth and it's boring!

How many thousands of envelopes can we stuff before we feel like we'll lose our minds?

Well, when you absolutely, positively can't stand it anymore and you just have to take a break from envelope stuffing, here are some things you can do to spice up your marriage and make the special person in your life feel special.

SiForget envelope stuffing.  Get romantic!

  1. Quit envelope stuffing for a while to prepare special meals or goodies during the day, then hide them and serve later. People who don't work at home rarely have the chance to get away with this since they must prepare the food while he/she is in the house to spoil the surprise.
  2. Take an extra shower and get all gussied up for a surprise date, a night on the town with your spouse. Wash off all that dirty mail bag dust and forget all those envelope stuffing paper cuts. Enjoy a night of special romance with your spouse!
  3. Have you ever thought of a good nap for you as a gift for someone else?  Use your time at home to REST. Especially if you have children and a home based business, you may find that a little rest for you might be a better aphrodisiac and a better gift than any order of oysters or the nicest gift you can think of. Isn't that what he or she wants more than anything else... to feel really important and special to you? If you're rested and caught up you can listen better and become more involved with what your spouse is saying to you. There's nothing better for your marriage than some really good communication and private time. But it's hard to give that to someone when you're totally exhausted and overextended. Maybe some rest for you is the nicest gift you can give him.
  4. Use your time alone in the house between envelope stuffing sessions to spread little "I Love You's" all around the house where only he or she will find them... in their books, in the refrigerator, in their favorite bag of snacks, in their dresser drawer, suit pocket, shower, shoes, briefcase. What the heck, put a note in tons of their clothes. You work at home. You've got the time!
  5. Use the time that you get from working at home doing envelope stuffing to run secret errands... buying gifts or getting them engraved, for example.  Another big advantage is that people who work from home also get to do their shopping and other errands when there are fewer people on the roads.  Takes less time!
  6. Take a few minutes away from your envelope stuffing job to write him/her a romantic letter. Free and simple, but so very precious. Tell him/her how much they mean to you, how they are more special than anyone else in the world, and most of all, how you can't possibly imagine your life without them. Thank them for every little thing you can think of and make them feel really appreciated. Letters like that are saved for a lifetime. No over-priced gift store greeting card can match that.
  7. You work at home and your spouse works at an office. Is there any way he might be able to, uh, get away from his office for awhile to meet you, uh, at your home office, for, uh, a special private, uh, meeting? Tell him or her you need them at home because something broke or you don't feel well or something so it's a surprise. You know what to do from there.

Those of us who have work at home jobs have many advantages. We have less stress, more time for ourselves, more time for our kids and for our spouses, we eat better, live a better life, save money and help the environment. The extra romance is just the -- oh so wonderful -- icing on the cake.

We hope you enjoyed these romantic ideas for meanginful breaks you can take from your envelope stuffing.
